Informatics Admissions
There are three paths to admission to the Informatics program:
Current UW students
The Informatics program has two admissions cycles per year:
- The application to start the program in autumn 2025 will open March 3, 2025, with a deadline of April 4, 2025 at 5 p.m. PT.
- The application to start the program in winter 2026 will open in September 2025.

Transfer students
- The application to start the program in autumn 2025 will open March 3, 2025, with a deadline of April 4, 2025 at 5 P.M. PT.
- The application to start the program in winter 2026 will open in September 2025.
Transfer students also must apply for UW admission by the specified deadline.

Direct-to-major admission
Direct admission gives high school students with a strong interest in studying Informatics the chance to apply to the iSchool while filling out their UW application. Simply selecting “Informatics” as the first-choice major on the UW application will ensure automatic consideration for direct admission. Direct admission is for autumn quarter only.
