Admissions, academic and career advising
iSchool staff are here to help provide you with quality support throughout your iSchool experience as you explore, develop and pursue opportunities that align with your life and career goals. Advising hours and scheduling instructions are listed below for graduate admissions, academic and career advisors. Most programs host appointments online or in-person.
Consult an academic advisor for topics such as:
- Academic guidance such as degree planning, course registration and suggestions, Capstone and internships.
- Policies, procedures and forms at the UW, Graduate School, iSchool or degree program level
- Approval of transfer credits, out-of-school courses, etc.
- Navigating other UW offices/services (i.e., Financial Aid, International Programs, etc.)
Consult a career advisor for topics such as:
- Internship and career opportunities, employer contact info and advice
- Resume and cover letter reviews
- Preparing for job interviews: mock interviews, day-of interview tips, salary negotiation, etc.

Meet with the graduate admissions advisor to have your questions answered 1-on-1 about the MSIM, MLIS or Ph.D. in Information Science programs.
- Drop-in meetings of 15 minutes or less on Zoom.
- Dates: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1-3 p.m. Pacific time
- Attendees will be helped in order of entry. Please wait to be let in.
