There are three paths to admission to the Informatics program:
Current UW students
The application period for Informatics is now open! Students have a deadline of April 9, at 5 p.m. PDT to begin the program in autumn 2019. A second Informatics admissions cycle is under review by the UW administration and if approved, this cycle will occur in autumn 2019 for admission to join the program in spring 2020.
In order to be eligible to apply, you must complete the prerequisite courses by the end of winter quarter 2019. Learn about applying as a current UW student.
If you are not currently enrolled at the University of Washington at the Seattle campus, but are planning to transfer in for autumn quarter, you are required to submit a transfer application to the UW by the Feb. 15 application deadline. You must also apply separately to the Informatics program to be considered for admission.

Freshman direct admission
Direct admission gives high school students with a strong interest in studying Informatics the chance to apply to the iSchool while filling out their UW application. Simply selecting “Informatics” as the first-choice major on the UW application will ensure automatic consideration for direct admission. Direct admission is for autumn quarter only.
