Associate Professor Joseph T. Tennis was elected president of the International Society for Knowledge Organization (ISKO). He will serve a four year term from 2014-2018. As president, he joins an Executive Board with seven members and a Scientific Advisory Council currently with 22 members.
ISKO is the leading international society for research and reporting on the organization of knowledge. Founded in 1989, ISKO's mission is to advance conceptual work in knowledge organization in all kinds of forms, and for all kinds of purposes. It publishes the journal Knowledge Organization. The organization has more than 550 members and has chapters in Brazil, Canada/US, China, France, Germany, India, Iran, Italy, Maghreb, Poland, Portugal/Spain, and the UK.
