Research by iSchool Professors David Levy and Jacob Wobbrock showing the positive effects of meditation training in the workplace has captured the attention of journalists and bloggers across the country.
The most recent example, a July 8 article in USA Today, features an interview with Levy that explores the inspiration for the research as well as his own meditation practice.
Levy discusses reading Darlene Cohen's book, "The One Who Is Not Busy: Connecting to Work in a Deeply Satisfying Way," and wondering about meditation's effect on helping people concentrate and reduce workplace stress. "In the book she was talking about how she's adapted some Zen training to the workplace," he says in the interview. "For 20 years I've been looking about how to add balance to the workplace, and that gave me the idea for the experiment."
