Come and connect with Melody Sky Weaver, who is the City of Port Townsend’s first Community Services Director, overseeing parks, library, facilities and art with a focus on services to youth. She likes to call this the new Department of PLAY. She has a master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Washington, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in sculpture and postmodern visual culture from Boise State University. She served as the Port Townsend Public Library director for 10 years overseeing a 111-year-old Carnegie Library.  In Idaho, she was awarded the prestigious Idaho Woman Making History award for her community minded artwork. In 2023, she graduated from the Northwest Women’s Leadership Academy Cohort No. 4. One of her all-time favorite books is A Wrinkle in Time.
