AI and Modern Misinformation: In partnership with Sno-Isle Libraries
This workshop is being offered by Sno-Isle Libraries in partnership with the Center for an Informed Public (CIP), featuring University of Washington Information School researchers. The CIP is a multidisciplinary research center at the University of Washington (UW) in Seattle that has a mission to “resist strategic misinformation, promote an informed society and strengthen democratic discourse.” The center’s work revolves around four pillars: research; education; engagement; and law and policy. Keep learning using resources from CIP here.
"Advances in AI mean that we all have the power to generate realistic images, videos, audio, and text in seconds. This also means it’s more important than ever to know how to sort out what’s real and what’s not online. Join us to learn the basics of how generative AI works, how to use it responsibly, and how to tell the difference between AI and human-created information online."
This event will be recorded for later viewing on the Sno-Isle Libraries YouTube channel, and will be available for 5 years.
