"The 3D Printer Will Come, Now How Do We Kick People Out?"
Hacking sociality in open technology projects: Dunbar-Hester, an associate professor at the University of Southern California's Annenberg School for Communications & Journalism, will explore interventions by free and open source software projects and hackerspaces around the issue of “diversity” in their communities.
Dunbar-Hester is an ethnographer with expertise in the politics of technology. She is the author of “Low Power to the People: Pirates, Protest, and Politics in FM Radio Activism” (MIT Press, 2014).
