Eventful: Make Your Life More Eventful

Many international students struggle with mental health issues like social isolation, depression, and anxiety. A Penn State study revealed that from 2018 to 2021, these students experienced social isolation 2.5% more frequently than their peers, mainly due to the challenges of adapting to a new country and culture. To tackle this issue, our team developed "Eventful," an app to help international students at the University of Washington integrate into their new community. This innovative, map-based platform enables users to discover nearby events tailored to their interests, fostering connections and creating a supportive environment that brings together the international university community.

From Bean to Screen: Brewing an Online Experience for Il Viale

Il Viale is a cozy café in Edmonds, WA, that aims to serve a unique Italian coffee experience and vintage aesthetic to its tight-knit community. To establish their online presence, our capstone project focused on creating an aesthetically pleasing and easily navigable website that captures Il Viale’s special ambiance. We utilized a low-code platform to showcase the espresso bar's offerings, enabling patrons to learn about the café, see events, and view menu items. Ultimately, we were able to launch at the café itself, alongside a satisfied sponsor. Website: https://www.ilvialeespresso.com/

First-year students encounter prerequisite courses with large enrollments, which can feel overwhelming in regards to performing well. Managing both the academic workload and the social dynamics can significantly impact one's ability to study effectively. To address this challenge, we developed a platform where students can collaboratively engage with study materials. By enabling multiple students to upload their study notes, HuskySync generates personalized quizzes tailored to each user.
