The UW iSchool joins the field in honoring UW librarian Steve Schadle (MLS, 1990), who has been named the 2010 Ulrich's Serials Librarianship Award winner for his distinguished contribution to the serials and cataloging. An article about Schadle and the award was recently published in the UW newspaper The Daily. The award is in given each year in recognition of the most distinguished contributions to serials.

Schadle was also interviewed by Ross Reynolds on radio station KUOW recently about being named "cataloging champ" and how technology is changing the very idea of libraries. In his remarks, which start at the eight-minute mark, he talks about his 15 years developing training programs and standards for incorporating electronic serials into the library catalog.
