They have a large repository of films made by ethnographers and anthropologists documenting various aspects of Indigenous life around the globe. He was hired to revamp their catalog to make it more accessible and also to do outreach to Indigenous communities documented in the film for efforts of digital repatriation. Seth Kurke
MLIS, 2021
As of 2025 since earning their MLIS in 2021, Seth has applied the principles of information organization, access, and equity to a career in marketing, outreach, and digital strategy. I’ve worked with nonprofits like Documentary Educational Resources and Local Contexts, where he led communications and engagement efforts rooted in community-centered, data-informed approaches—especially in support of Indigenous cultural heritage. Seth's training in metadata, archiving, and user-centered design has directly informed the systems I’ve built for email marketing, CRM management, and content strategy. Most recently, he launched EchoPoint Strategies, a consulting firm focused on helping mission-driven organizations and small businesses communicate with clarity and impact. The critical thinking and information ethics core to Seth's MLIS continue to shape every aspect of their work today.
