On April 23, Michelle H. Martin will be inducted into the Illinois State University College of Arts & Sciences Hall of Fame (her PhD alma mater).

Jevin West gave the keynote address for the launch of the new Social Data Science program at the University of Maryland. 

Chirag Shah gave a talk at University of Helsinki, Finland titled "Task-Based Intelligent Retrieval and Recommendation.” He also served as the Opponent on a PhD defense there.

Chirag Shah and Yunhe Feng co-authored a paper at AAAI 2022 titled "Has CEO Gender Bias Really Been Fixed? Adversarial Attacking and Improving Gender Fairness in Image Search." It was covered by UW News and picked up by AAAS EurekAlert and ACM TECH NEWS. The camera-ready version is available now.

Kathleen Campana, J. Elizabeth Mills, Jacquie Kociubuk, and Michelle H. Michelle H. Martin has been accepted to present “​​Librarian Camp!: Fully-engaged Learning with Camp Read-a-Rama” with Sydney Powell and Jennifer Ching (MLIS alum) for the Washington Library Association (WLA) conference in Bellevue, WA, May 5-7.
