Joe Janes gave a lecture at the National Archives in Washington D.C. about his book titled, Documents That Changed the Way We Live. This was part of the McGowan Theater Book Lecture Series. His talk is available on youtube.
Jessica Hullman gave a Distinguished Lecture at Northwestern University's Technology and Social Behavior Colloquium. Her lecture was titled, “Seeing What We Think Through Visualization Interaction." She also participated, along with Robert Kosara from Tableau Software, in the Data Stories podcast to discuss highlights from the recent IEEE VIS 2017 conference.
Susan Hildreth, Joe Janes, and Beck Tench had a panel presentation accepted to the ALA Annual Conference to be held in New Orleans in June 2018. Their presentation will be titled, “Ensuring the Future of Libraries: Connecting the Academy and the Profession.”
