Biography

Stuart Maxwell is a Guest Faculty Member at the University of Washington Information School, teaching Introduction to Information Architecture. He has over 13 years of experience in building metadata systems, driving strategy definition and discovery efforts, and leading cross-functional product and IA teams. He has advocated for and spearheaded metadata-centric projects that significantly improved the customer experience and streamlined business processes.

Stuart is a graduate of the UW iSchool's MSIM program and an active member of the IA community, having organized numerous local gatherings and national conferences of IA practitioners and academics. He now studies environmental sustainability in hopes of learning how information management practices can support the fight against climate change and for a more responsible use of the Earth's resources.
