Biography

Rolf Hapel is an Affiliate Instructor at the University of Washington Information School. His work focuses on leadership and management of public libraries, the development of public library services and spaces, and community engagement and partnership building for libraries. He served as the Director of Citizens' Service and Libraries for the City of Aarhus, Denmark from 2006 to 2018. He previously worked in four Danish cities as a librarian, deputy manager, and director of public services before becoming the City Librarian at Aarhus Public Libraries in 1994. Rolf has a master’s degree in Digitization and Public Governance from Aarhus University and an MLS degree from Danmarks Biblioteksskole.
