Biography

Latrice Ferguson is a Guest Faculty Memver in the University of Washington's Information School teaching graduate courses in children's literature. Currently, she is a doctoral candidate in the University of Pennsylvania's Literacy Studies program. Prior to beginning her doctoral journey, she earned an MA in Children’s Literature from Kansas State University. Additionally, Latrice worked for nearly a decade in public and school libraries serving children and teens. It was in the library that she discovered the power of sharing and discussing incredible literature with youth. Currently, Latrice is working on her dissertation that explores the relationship between play, identity, and literacy in the library.
