Biography

As Director of the MLIS Law Librarianship program and Associate Teaching Professor, Carla ensures graduates are well prepared to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving field and lead the profession into the future. Her research interests include public interest technology in law and organizational change, and she teaches courses on legal research methods; intersecting law and information policy in technology, intellectual property, data privacy, and freedom of speech/information; law library administration; and scholarly writing in the field.

Carla also currently serves as the Interim Associate Dean for Gallagher Law Library and Information Systems at the School of Law overseeing personnel, budget, operations, and services of the law library and law school information technology departments. Before joining the iSchool, Carla served as the Associate Dean for Law Library and Information Technology Services at the University of the District of Columbia’s David A. Clarke School of Law and various roles at Temple University Beasley School of Law, Georgetown University Law Center, and Northern Illinois University College of Law.
