Biography
Claire Scott is a Guest Instructor specializing in library services to youth and families. She believes that connecting patrons with the books and programs that ignite their joy opens pathways to lifelong library services. She is passionate about supporting future librarians to cultivate inclusive, justice-oriented, and responsive reference, collections, and programming with their communities.
Claire has hosted community-based events ranging from community storytimes to pop-up libraries at fan conventions. She is an avid advocate of genre fiction and was named Librarian of the Year by the Greater Seattle Romance Writers of America in 2016. She has been a librarian since 2006 in the Bay Area and Seattle public library systems and K-12 schools, and is currently a Teacher Librarian at a public high school in Seattle. She has also earned a Certificate in Advanced Study - School Library Media from Syracuse University in 2018.
