Biography
Chance Hunt (MLIS, UW, 1992) enjoyed a 30-year career in public libraries and municipal government before teaching full-time for the Information School. He served as a children's librarian, youth services manager and public services administrator in public libraries in the King County region. He also led the Broadband and Community Technology division for the City of Seattle. At both the local and state levels, Chance has focused on innovative programs and services that activate the public space and increase access to library services and digital technologies. His work on "What If All Kids Read the Same Book?" brought him recognition as a Library Journal "Mover and Shaker" in 2004. An avid supporter of community collaboration, he has served on boards for both Team Read and Seattle CityClub.
