Information School alumna Nicola Andrews, ’17, is among 50 people named to the American Library Association’s 2019 class of Emerging Leaders.
The Emerging Leaders program is designed to enable library staff and information workers to participate in project planning, network with peers, learn about the ALA structure, and take on leadership responsibilities early in their careers.
Audrey Barbakoff and Pauline Stacchini, co-chairs of the Emerging Leaders program, said they look forward to working with this year's cohort of early career leaders who are eager to pursue leadership opportunities in the association. Barbakoff completed her MLIS at the iSchool in 2010.
The program begins with a gathering at ALA’s Midwinter Meeting — held this year from Jan. 25-29 in Seattle — and continues with online learning and networking, culminating with a presentation at the ALA Annual Conference in June.
