iSchool Library Leadership Spotlight Series: Cheryl Heywood
Connect with Cheryl Heywood, who has been Executive Director of the Timberland Regional Library system since 2013, spanning 7,000 square miles, with 29 libraries in Grays Harbor, Lewis, Mason, Pacific and Thurston counties. Heywood holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Concordia University and a master’s degree in Library Studies from McGill University. Cheryl’s professional journey began at a municipal, bilingual public library with three branches. During this time, she gained experience in reference services, materials selection, programs, and budgets. At TRL, Cheryl worked as a Collection Development Specialist, Senior Library Manager and Executive Director. She is originally from Montreal, Canada. Cheryl is an avid traveler and enjoys outdoor recreational activities such as hiking, biking and camping.
