After graduation in 2022, Rai was promoted to Acquisitions Supervisor for the King County Library System. In September 2023, she accepted a faculty position as Public Services Librarian for Alfred University in Alfred, NY, where she leads the Public Services team and the student worker program across both campus libraries.
