Conrrado Saldivar
MLIS, 2021
In 2022, Conrrado reports:
"Since graduating in August 2021, I was elected as Vice President of the Wyoming Library Association. I then started a new job as Outreach and Development Librarian at the Wyoming State Library at the end of 2021. In January 2022, the President of the Association stepped down and I became acting President. This came right after the Association signed an agreement with EveryLibrary to begin an awareness, advocacy, and training program to combat the attacks on Intellectual Freedom in Wyoming. Learning on the fly, I navigated this experience and partnership to better serve the Association.
"This month, we'll be launching all components of this statewide program to better prepare our library staff for any issues they may face.
"I'm thankful for the Collection Development course, and all of those that touched on advocacy. I'm also grateful for my fellow coursemates for showing me what teamwork really means. There's no way I could have undertaken this sudden Association project without learning how to delegate, communicate, and coordinate with multiple individuals.
"I was also recently appointed to ALA's ODLOS Advisory Committee to offer dynamic perspectives to help guide the strategic direction of ODLOS, will assess program effectiveness, encourage the exploration of new ideas and initiatives, and strengthen the growth of equity and inclusion within the American Library Association and the profession as a whole. My term ends June 2023."
Jayesh Satish
MSIM, 2021
In late 2022, Jayesh reported: "It's been almost two years since I joined Campfire Analytics as a Data Engineer and have been working full time since my graduation. It feels like I am making a difference to a great community of people I work with at my firm. I have also been connecting with few of the current MSIM students to help them with any questions regarding the program or getting internships, as I feel I was in the same place about few years ago. But it has been a good few years full of learning and new challenges and hopefully new year brings the same."
