The Incluseum
Rose Paquet in an outdoor setting.

Rose Paquet co-founded The Incluseum alongside fellow Museology alum Aletheia Wittman, shortly after the duo graduated in 2012. Paquet’s commitment to the project continued throughout her Ph.D. studies from 2013 to 2021 and to the present day.

The Incluseum began as a collaborative initiative and has grown into a transformative force in the museum field and education while maintaining its collective spirit. The Incluseum’s resources have been widely adopted for professional development, graduate-level learning, and even policy design and implementation. Among its contributions is a book, “Transforming Inclusion in Museums: The Power of Collaborative Inquiry,” co-authored by Paquet, Wittman and Porchia Moore, a museum studies professor at the University of Florida.

Paquet credits her Ph.D. advisor, Professor Dave Hendry, and courses such as Value Sensitive Design and Design Methods with playing a pivotal role in shaping the project's direction and methodology.

Over the years, The Incluseum has benefited from the talents of other iSchool students. Two MLIS students designed a metadata schema for the project’s published content; two Museology students helped develop an exhibition called “The Power of Labeling;” and four MSIM students played a key role in redesigning the platform during the most recent academic year. Together, these collaborations have helped The Incluseum evolve into a dynamic and inclusive resource for the museum community.
