Northwest Health Career Path is a project to make information about health science programs available on the internet so that prospective medical students throughout the northwest region can browse, learn more about those programs and make a decision to pursue a medical career. We deliver a full-stack mobile-friendly website from the database, servers to smart visualization of health sciences outreach programs to fill the information gaps between students and program providers. Thousands of Seattle residents live with at least one chronic medical condition. We’ve developed an online application to help users learn more about managing their chronic condition. Currently, the Aging and Disability Services Office provides users with a static page to help them manage their condition. With our application, users complete a quick survey regarding their condition, and our application provides users lifestyle information on what they are doing well or need to improve regarding their condition. Users can print a history of their responses to take to a doctor for more informed care to increase their Quality of Life.

Local companies have a difficult time finding a bulk amount of workers for one-time jobs. This lack of ability to distribute job information and match it to multiple qualified workers is an information distribution problem. By simplifying entry into our database, standardizing job types, and using a custom-built algorithm to match jobs with workers, we are able to provide large quantities of workers to those who need it. We now have a fully designed software that fits our client & contractors’ needs. We also have a prototype, business plan, and development team that will continue the creation of our software.

Discovering a recipe that matches the number of their ingredients and equipment can also be a hassle. So how do we improve this process tenfold? With QuickTaste of course! QuickTaste is an intuitive interactive online cookbook that engages users, who wish to save money and reinstill home-cooked meals within their lives by providing a selection of vibrant 30-minute recipes.

Our project is a bold undertaking that seeks to combat the advent of over-personalization of news feeds and the inability to see the “bigger” picture within news media. These issues can create echo chambers which lead to increased partisanship and the general spread of misinformation. We created a web application that consolidates the news from different outlets to offer a more in depth analysis of the news media. Through this, we provide our users with conceptual visualizations of a developing story, while allowing users to hone in on topics that interest them and allowing for balanced viewpoints amongst these topics.

We at Tern are committed to providing curated travel tours, making it possible for everyone and anyone to freely explore any destination and serving you a one-stop solution for all of your travel needs. In our user research, we found that aspiring travelers often find brainstorming and logistics planning for travel to be overwhelming. There are too many sources available, such as Google Reviews, Reddit, Yelp, and Airbnb, which do not have the sole purpose of “Detailed Travel Planning.” With our service, travel planning can be more enjoyable and less burdensome.
