Scholarships
iSchool Scholarships
All residential and online MSIM applicants who apply by the deadline are automatically considered for a limited number of iSchool merit-based scholarships, with each covering up to a year of tuition. If there is additional information you would like to provide the committee that you feel is relevant to your being considered for a scholarship, you can use the optional Scholarship Information section in the online application.
We also award select scholarships to second-year residential students.

MSIM students are eligible for dozens of scholarships from national and regional organizations and businesses. Deadlines vary and details may change, so please consult each scholarship’s website for more information.
Alice L. Halton Educational Fund
The fund provides research grants, seminar support and other funding for projects related to information and records management.
Foundation for Science and Disability Student Award
FSD stresses the ability of scientists and students with disabilities to contribute to science and society. Members of FSD also work together to promote employment opportunities and to increase the participation of scientists with disabilities in the academic, government, and industrial aspects of society.
Google Lime Scholarship for Students with Disabilities
Google is committed to helping the innovators of the future make the most of their talents by providing scholarships and networking retreats for computer science students with disabilities.
Healthcare Information & Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Scholarships
4 scholarships are awarded to a student (undergraduate, master's or Ph.D.) enrolled in a program related to the healthcare information and management systems field. In addition to the $5,000 scholarship award, the winner will also receive an all-expenses paid trip to the Annual HIMSS Conference and Exhibition.

Lucille M. Wert Student Scholarship
American Chemical Society provides a scholarship designed to help people with an interest in the fields of Chemistry and Information to pursue graduate study in Library, Information, or Computer Science.
Paul Evan Peters Scholarship
The Paul Evan Peters Scholarship was established to honor and perpetuate the memory of Paul Evan Peters (1947-1996), founding executive director of the Coalition for Networked Information (CNI). The fellowship will assist students pursuing graduate studies in the information sciences, librarianship, or closely related field, that advance the frontiers of digital information and technology.
PMI Educational Foundation Scholarships
PMI Educational Foundation’s Scholarships and Awards Program supports development of the best and brightest future project management professionals worldwide through learning opportunities. The scholarship program was established to assist students in obtaining degrees from accredited institutions of high learning in the field of project management or a project management related field.
SMART Scholarship for Service Program
The Science, Mathematics And Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship for Service Program has been established by the Department of Defense (DoD) to support undergraduate and graduate students pursuing technical degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines. The program aims to increase the number of civilian scientists and engineers working at DoD laboratories.
Soros Fellowships for New Americans
Paul and Daisy Soros, Hungarian immigrants and American philanthropists, established their fellowship program for New Americans in December 1997 with a charitable trust of fifty million dollars.
United Negro College Fund Scholarships (Multiple)
To close the educational attainment gap between African Americans and the majority population, UNCF helps promising students attend college and graduate by administering 400 scholarship and internship programs, so that even students from low- and moderate-income families can afford college tuition, books and room and board.
UW Fellowships and Awards (Multiple)
The Office of Fellowships and Awards coordinates and administers regional and federal fellowship and scholarship programs which require Graduate School involvement. We also administer and monitor fellowship moneys from private gifts; coordinate Fulbright and other international and research abroad programs for students and faculty; and administer and allocate fee waivers to departments and individuals.
Women Techmakers Scholars
As part of Google's ongoing commitment to encouraging women to pursue careers in computing and technology through the Women Techmakers Scholars Program (formerly the Google Anita Borg Scholarship), through which the company hopes to encourage women to excel in computing and technology and become active role models and leaders.
