Steps to Graduate
Before you are able to graduate, you are required to complete the following procedures. If you have any questions concerning this process, please contact Student Services. Learn about the Convocation ceremony.
MLIS Graduation Request
Fill out and submit the MLIS Graduation Request to convey your intention to graduate to the iSchool and confirm that you will meet all MLIS degree requirements by the end of the quarter in which you intend to graduate. This request is typically due at the end of the first week of the quarter in which you intend to graduate. You should submit your request a couple weeks prior to this so that Student Services can conduct a final audit. The program advisor will then audit your request to make sure that you have completed all of the required coursework in order to graduate.
Master’s Degree Request
You must also submit your master's degree request online with The UW Graduate School. This can be done starting on the first day of the quarter in which you intend to graduate and no later than Sunday of the seventh week of the quarter. If you do not file master's degree request by this deadline, you may pay the $250 degree late fee and apply up until the Sunday of the ninth week of the quarter. Learn more about this policy.
Additional Information for MLIS Graduating Students
