Samantha Starmer
MLIS, 2005
In January 2014, Samantha began work in New York City at Ralph Lauren as a Vice President, Digital Product Management. Samantha also sits on the MSIM Advisory Board.
Joseph Tennis
PhD, 2005
Joe is now Associate Professor and Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs at the University of Washington Information School. This year, he served as Chair of the Governing Board of the Dublin Core Metadata Initiative. He will also continue to serve as the President for the International Society for Knowledge Organization for another two years.
Genevieve Williams
MLIS, 2005
In mid-2015, Genevieve began serving a year as president of the ACRL Washington State chapter.
Matt Woicik
MSIM, 2005
Matt started a digital marketing agency called ML2 Solutions, helping small-business owners who are struggling with their digital marketing as a digital marketing strategist who focuses on websites, SEO (Search Engine Optimization), PPC (paid advertising) and analytics.
Wendy Zimmerman
MLIS, 2005
Wendy has worked at the Fairbanks Public Libraries in a range of positions over the last 20 years. She is currently the Circulation and Bookmobile Services Manager. She moonlights as Accounting and Human Resources Manager at her spouse’s aircraft maintenance facility.
She unwinds by cooking, painting, and enjoying Alaska’s great outdoors through cycling, hiking and skiing.
David Allen
Informatics, 2004
David is working as an Application Analyst for the Puyallup School District. He manages the district's Learning Management System and creates reports to analyze trends in student learning, attendance, and behavior. He's also involved in the district's transition from a paper archive to a digital archiving system.
James Boaz
MSIM, 2004
Since graduation from the mid-career MSIM program, work has taken James to T-Mobile, then Clearwire/Sprint, where he has put many of his MSIM skills to use in the corporate setting. He serves on the MSIM Advisory Board and is enjoying the opportunity to add to the conversation on ways to strengthen the mid-career program.
Kaijsa Calkins
MLIS, 2004
In August 2019, Kaijsa was appointed Assistant Dean for Education and Research at University of Wyoming Libraries. She leads a division that includes special collections, digital collections, digital scholarship, library instruction, and the liaison program.
Debra Cox
MLIS, 2004
Debra is beginning her third year as Special Collections cataloger at Seattle Public Library.
John Henderson
MLIS, 2004
John has lived in Asia since 2005. In 2014, he led a UN food security survey in northern Myanmar.
