Graduate School Preparation program
Are you new to studying in the United States?
The UW Graduate School Preparation Program is a five-week summer program for students in a wide variety of fields. It’s designed to help you gain skills to meet the challenges of studying in a U.S. graduate program with confidence. Students will develop the advanced language and presentation skills needed for top academic performance and increase awareness of U.S. academic culture and expectations. This program also satisfies the UW English language proficiency requirement for ENGL 102 and ENGL 104 (if you are an incoming UW student and haven’t met your ELP requirement yet.)
The program runs during August. Dates and tuition for summer sessions have not yet been updated.
CIRCLE (Center for International Relations & Cultural Leadership Exchange)
CIRCLE offers programs and events specific to supporting international student success. You will receive information during the summer on ways to connect with their programming.
International Student Services (ISS) Office – New Student Information
International students studying on an F-1 or J-1 visa should follow the steps provided by ISS. New students cannot register for classes until they have checked in with ISS to verify their passport and other immigration documents are in order. Students should bring their I-20 or DS-2019, passport, and I-94 card to ISS once on campus.
