Japanese seed beads are identified by the color code assigned to each product. Three primary manufacturers assign their own alphanumeric codes, while a wholesaler combined all three identification systems into a new system. This creates confusion among consumers because these systems are not well understood and are not yet cross-referenced. My ontology is the foundation of a knowledge base that will aid in more accurate identification of colors between manufacturer numbers and the corresponding product in the wholesaler’s system. This resource will facilitate accurate color-matching and increase awareness of the variety of seed beads available.

The Geology Library Database was created for students, staff, and volunteers in the UW Burke Museum Geology and Paleontology Department to facilitate library resource discovery. The database was created in FilemakerPro and utilized linked data to allow for easy browsing. It also makes use of its own controlled vocabulary and fully documented schema. As part of its creation, over 250 records were entered to test its capabilities. Once it is fully populated, the database will increase ease of access to materials for the volunteers who do not have the same level of access to UW Libraries as their paid colleagues.

Washington State legislative assistants are overwhelmed by constituent inquiries and face challenges responding in a timely and thorough manner. Through extensive user research and competitive analysis, Civic QA has built an efficient and comprehensive third-party communication tool to manage constituent relations. We leverage machine learning to effectively categorize correspondence and help legislative assistants quickly respond to pressing issues, while enabling staff to track constituent engagement over time. By supplying engagement reports, daily trends, and filtered topics, staff have greater insight into the needs of constituents to drive better policy responses.

With our nation’s declared quarantines and the drive to develop and administer COVID-19 vaccines, it is no surprise that young adults are prematurely socializing without heeding safety regulations. While tools have been released to help, they are unnecessarily complicated, time-consuming, and invasive. CovidAware, a COVID-19 risk assessment calculator, is our solution to young adults' needs for in-person social interaction, to mediate their less cautious behavior, and decrease stigmatization they face from their peers. With CovidAware we can reduce the number of new COVID-19 cases and provide the information needed to make informed decisions without requiring users to provide unnecessary information.

Through proven gamification concepts and real-time data from active digital currency exchanges, we provide a novel and concise education method on the future standards of global currency. With CryAw you can enjoy yourself and compete with other users to create the highest value cryptocurrency investment portfolio. CryAw provides increased access to structured cryptocurrency knowledge - thereby cutting through the noise in the cryptocurrency space.

The University District Food Bank required a new database to meet the needs of their multiple programs and accurately track their data. A centralized system provides more continuity for staff, volunteers, and better service to the clients. Based on the information needs of the staff and our research of database options, we customized FoodBank Manager's cloud-based application for its programs. The application features manage clients appropriately, are accessible to multiple staff concurrently, and are easy to update over time without a technical contractor. The Food Bank will be able to provide better service to its guests and stakeholders.

KraftKit was created with the intention of giving library workers, teachers, and other individuals that want another resource to find their next programming inspirations. It is also a platform where individuals can upload and share their programming ideas and connect with other users. Our goal is to become a free central resource for programming ideas so that it can enhance the services and experience in libraries, schools, or other recreational institutions.

Epic Games maintains documentation and learning courses for Unreal Engine, a 3D creation tool. Many users find it difficult to search and navigate between these materials. We developed a unified data model that identifies overlaps in the metadata and relationship classes between documentation and online courses. This model formed the foundation of a knowledge graph of 2,700 documentation pages and 130 courses built with Neo4j. Analyzing the knowledge graph reveals dynamic connections. As Epic continues to build on our framework, content creators will be able to identify tags and linkages, bringing relevant material together and delivering relevant content to users.

Smartsheet is a suite of products that makes teams productive through cloud-connected tools. System Administrator users using Smartsheet manage their users and settings, and they use reports and bulk actions for auditing purposes and user management. In the current system, reports and bulk action statuses are sent via email. Thus, there is no possible way to audit or track these items, which causes unnecessary confusion. Through this project, we designed & developed a dashboard for users to enable managing reports and bulk actions conveniently. Through these new features, admin users gain more control and flexibility to do their jobs.

The Sno-King Amateur Hockey Association collects and stores tens of thousands of registration and donation data entries across seven different platforms each year. With their data storage not being centralized, accessing their data has become increasingly difficult as the organization has grown and more data continues to flow in. For our Capstone project, we were tasked with creating and filling a centralized database, and then making analyses based on that data. From the work we have done, our sponsor will be able to make their own analyses to make better marketing decisions for its adult and youth hockey programs.
