Funding for International MLIS Students

  1. Programs
  2. MLIS
  3. Tuition, Aid & Scholarships
  4. International Students

Funding for international students is available, but not always through the same channels as funding for U.S. citizens or permanent residents. You are not eligible for U.S. financial aid, but you may be eligible for some UW funding, and you are eligible to apply to iSchool scholarships.  You are also eligible for part-time campus jobs (listed on Handshake).

In addition to UW and iSchool funding, you may be eligible for scholarships from external agencies such as professional organizations, foundations and corporations. Use the resources listed below specifically for international students as well as general scholarship databases listed here.

International students are also encouraged to check what funding is available from their home county to support international study.

Funding resources with specifically for international students:

  • University of Washington Resources

General resources:

  • Candid Learning
  • Graduate Funding Information Services (GFIS)
  • International Education Financial Aid
