Cross-University GLAM Virtual Career Fair (Government, Library, Archive, Museum Employers)

iSchool Career Services is proud to be a partner for this year's GLAM Virtual Career Fair!

During the fair, each employer can bring up to 50 staff members to participate in group information sessions and one-on-one interviews with students from eight library and information schools across the U.S.

Registered employers will also have the opportunity to host virtual information sessions, coffee chats, and industry-focused panels in the month preceding the fair.

If you're interested in additional information about how virtual career fairs work, please view these online demos and GLAM Fair Info Session slides.

Host an MLIS Career Event

Previously known as the MLIS Library Career Expo (2020), and the MLIS Career Week (2021), the MLIS Career Event Series will be hosted during Spring 2025. These events are dedicated to career development, exploration, and networking for our MLIS students with workshops, employer-hosted sessions, and alumni panels featuring traditional and non-traditional library roles. We would love to invite library organizations to participate in the MLIS Career Event Series in the following ways:

  • Volunteering for MLIS Resume and CV Review Day. Review MLIS students' resumes and CVs in 20-minute one-on-one sessions (1-hour commitment to meet with three MLIS students).
  • Host an information session. A presentation by at least one representative covering general information about your library organization and current or upcoming opportunities, followed by Q&A. If you have multiple representatives, we can facilitate breakout sessions in Zoom for small group or one-on-one conversations and networking.
  • Host a virtual hangout. An informal session focused on students' questions and employer insights or advice that can be posed as small group coffee chats or Q&As. If you have multiple representatives, we can facilitate breakout sessions in Zoom for small group or one-on-one conversations and networking.
  • Partnered workshop. Collaborate with us to support student career development! Examples include a lecture on exciting developments in library organizations, a short presentation on how to prepare for an interview in your field, or a panel of employees offering job search advice. This is a great way to support and mingle with current library students even if your organization is not currently hiring!

Please let us know what kind of MLIS student interaction you are interested in by emailing iCareers@uw.edu, and we can work with you to create an event during this academic year that best suits your organization's needs!
