Effective September 16, 2026, Bryce was appointed the Shirley Papé Chair in Emerging Media and became the SOJC's Area Director for Media Studies; for the 2026–27 academic year, he also continues as the Petrone Faculty Fellow and Faculty Director of the Honors Program. He was named the David and Nancy Petrone Faculty Fellow and appointed to lead the SOJC's undergraduate Honors Program in 2025, the same year he received a Fulbright U.S. Scholar Award to Denmark, where he will be hosted at the University of Copenhagen for five months in 2026. In 2023, Bryce was awarded tenure and promoted to associate professor in the University of Oregon's School of Journalism and Communication (SOJC), where he is a member of the Media Studies faculty.
