iSchool Research Symposium: Lasting Impacts
Monday, November 4, 2019
| 12:30 - 1:30 PM
A panel with three recent iSchool award winners
This past year, the iSchool dean and two professors earned lasting impact awards for their research. On this panel, each will discuss the thought process that went into selecting their specific research projects. They will talk about whether they thought these topics would have a lasting impact at the time they formulated their ideas for the projects, or whether lasting impact is something that “just happens.” Do researchers have ways at the inception of their projects to amplify the long-term impacts of their research?
Featuring:
- Anind K. Dey, Dean and Professor: UbiComp/ISWC 20-year Impact Award.
- Amy J. Ko, Associate Professor: ICSE 10-year Award for Most Influential Paper.
- Jacob O. Wobbrock, Professor: SIGACCESS ASSETS Lasting Impact Paper Award for a paper at least 10 years old.
