The modern social landscape is constantly changing; it’s becoming more and more challenging to maintain positive relationships and effective communication when technology, social expectations, and society as a whole are changing so quickly. We felt that a unique approach was necessary to address and explore these themes; we decided to adapt and stage a full production of the musical “The Last Five Years”, combining music, lighting, scenic, sound, and visual design to create an immersive storytelling experience. We wanted to connect directly with our audiences while sharing this story, and help them reflect on communication and relationships in their own lives. Additionally, all proceeds from the show are to be donated to Arts Corps Seattle, a local nonprofit that provides arts education, programming, and workshops to Seattle youth in low-income areas.
