Batya Friedman has terrific news to share:
- Along with Ryan Calo and Tadayoshi Kohno, received a three-year grant for 1 million dollars from the MacArthur Foundation to support on-going work at the UW Tech Policy Lab, with an emphasis on activities at the intersection of tech policy and artificial intelligence.
- She also presented a keynote titled, Lives and Societies of Quality: A Value Sensitive Design Perspective at the Herrenhäuser Symposium on Design Trade-Offs for Quality of Life Exploring Grand Challenges for the Digital Age at Schloss Herrenhausen, Hannover, Germany, October 18, 2017.
Hyerim Cho, along with Andy Donovan and Jin Ha Lee, had a paper accepted to JASIST (Journal of the Association for Information Science and Technology) titled, “Art in an Algorithm: A Taxonomy for Describing Video Game Visual Styles.”
Annuska Zolyomi presented a paper that she co-authored with Anushree Shukla and Jaime Snyder titled, "Technology-Mediated Sight: A Case Study of Early Adopters of a Low Vision Assistive Technology” at the 19th International ACM SIGACCESS Conference on Computers and Accessibility in Baltimore, MD. The paper won the SIG ACCESS 2017 Best Student Paper Award. Congratulations!
Wanda Pratt will attend the AMIA 2017 Annual Symposium in Washington D.C. from November 4th to 8th. She will participate in all of the following:
