Ivette Bayo Urban has great news to report! She wrote an Op-Ed titled, Digital Citizenship—prioritize people, not technologies, for MyEdmondsNews, which The Center for Digital Inclusion at the iSchool at Illinois also ran. She graduated from Leadership Snohomish County, a local organization recognized for cultivating sustainable leadership. Over the past 15 years, more than 500 Snohomish County professionals have graduated from LSC. She will present at the 19th Annual Allied Media Conference on a FemTechNet Panel titled, Alternative Teaching Practice: FemTechNet. The conference takes place in Detroit, Michigan. Along with Stephanie Torres and Erin Jones, she will facilitate a program at the 2017 WLA Annual Conference titled, Social Justice Education Around Technology (SEAT): Critical Conversations. He’s an invited panelist at the 16th Interaction Design and Children Conference, to be held in Stanford, California from June 27th to 30th. His topic will be Interaction Design and the Learning Sciences. ACM Foundations of Digital Games Conference 2017 accepted his symposium on families and digital games. The conference will take place August 14th to 17th in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. And finally, a hearty congratulations to Jason!
