Biography

Ash is settler on Turtle Island, born and raised in the unceded homelands of the dxʷdəwʔabš. They are a former graduate of the University of Washington– both of the School of Arts and Sciences, where they received a Bachelors in Sociology and a Minor in American Indian Studies, and of the Information School, where they obtained their Masters of Library and Information Science.

Ash is currently pursuing a Ph.D in Information Science at the Information School under the leadership of Dr Sandy Littletree. Their current research focuses on knowledge organization systems, specifically the potential for the un-settling and questioning standardized practices, through Indigenous methodologies, anti-colonial language, and community-led creation.
