Biography

Dr. Shane McGarry (they/them) is a data scientist with SmartAction by Capacity. Their work focuses on the integration of multiple generative AI driven systems into a singular omni channel solution that helps companies automate their support systems and provide a more cohesive self-service experience. Dr. McGarry is passionate about building systems that are informed by user data and remain focused on the user experience from beginning to end. In addition to their work at SmartAction, Dr. McGarry teaches Data Visualization Design at the iSchool and User Experience Design at DigiPen Institute of Technology. Dr. McGarry holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Maynooth University and an M.A. in Digital Media & Interaction Design from Northeastern University.
