Aki is a guest instructor at the iSchool who focuses on information systems analysis and design and strategic leadership. She believes that technology and its usage should be inclusive and that its development should be accountable to everyone, especially to those who have been historically and systemically marginalized. Outside of UW, Aki is the Senior Director of Business Solutions at Casey Family Programs, the nation’s largest operating foundation focused on foster care and child welfare. In her role, she manages a team of analysts and handles the overall strategic and operational leadership of information management and application technology to streamline business functions and support organizational data-driven priorities. Prior to Casey, Aki built her career at nonprofit and education-focused organizations in operations and technology-based roles. She currently serves as co-chair of the Board of Directors of NTEN, where she also has served as a mentor and course instructor on operational strategies.
