Afra Mashhadi is an Assistant Professor at the Computing and Software Systems at University of Washington Bothell. Her research focus is on Computational Behavioral Modeling and applied Machine Learning. She is interested in developing mathematical and computational models that leverage the proliferation of sensors and breakthroughs in machine learning to understand societies and social phenomena at different spatial scales. As part of this focus she also investigates the implications of such models in creating equitable policies.
