Hundreds of students put their best feet forward for potential employers at a pair of career-focused iSchool events in early February.

First, students lined up at the HUB on the University of Washington campus on Feb. 3 to meet with representatives from 35 companies and organizations at the iSchool Career Fair. The event was open just to iSchool students for the first two hours, then to students from across the University of Washington for the remainder of the four-hour event.

The Career Fair showcased a wide range of information technology and information science jobs and internships available to students. Event sponsors included Avanade, Edgile, PitchBook, PwC, REI and Smartsheet.

A librarianship-focused event focused followed on Feb. 7 at Odegaard Library on the UW campus. The more narrowly targeted event gave students a chance to make connections with professionals from the library and information science field and learn about potential job, directed fieldwork and volunteer opportunities. Representatives from 12 organizations attended, including local, state and regional library systems.

Both annual events were organized by staff from the iSchool Student Services team.
