Caitlin Tormey, a first year MLIS student, has been chosen for a highly selective summer internship at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. Tormey will intern for the Youth Services Division.
The Library of Congress is the world's largest and most comprehensive repository of human knowledge. Interns work with Library curators and specialists to increase access to the collections.
At the iSchool, Tormey is collecting data in public libraries during the spring quarter as part of the VIEWS2 (Valuable Initiatives in Early Literacy that Work Successfully) National Leadership Grant funded by the Institute for Museum and Library Services. The project is directed by Eliza Dresang, Beverly Cleary Professor for Children and Youth.
