ALA Spectrum Doctoral Fellowship Program information session
The American Library Association has announced the return of the Spectrum Doctoral Fellowship Program. Building off the success of the Spectrum Scholarship Program. which provides one-year academic funding for LIS students who identify as American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian, Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino or Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islander, the Spectrum Doctoral Fellowship Program seeks to recruit diverse LIS faculty members.
In partnership with five universities, including the University of Washington, the American Library Association seeks to recruit a cohort of 8-10 racially and ethnically diverse doctoral students focused on advancing racial equity and social justice in library and information science curricula.
Applications open on Nov. 4, 2021, and will be accepted via the ALA Scholarship Clearinghouse. Applications will close on Dec. 10, 2021.
An informational session for prospective applicants will be presented on Nov. 3, 2021 at 10 a.m. PT. Participants must register in advance.
