iSchool Research Symposium: Jason Young
"Emerging Geographies of Digital Knowledge Politics"
Jason Young, a senior research scientist with the iSchool's Technology & Social Change Group, will describe his research agenda on digital knowledge politics in the Global South, drawing on theories and questions from digital geographies literature, indigenous and postcolonial theory, and science and technology studies. He will discuss his past and future projects, with the goal of discovering research synergies with other work being done at the iSchool.
Young’s research interests include digital geographies, indigenous knowledge systems, knowledge politics, and participatory research design. He has worked on digital projects with indigenous people in the Peruvian Amazon and the Canadian Arctic. He received his Ph.D. from the UW Department of Geography in 2017.
