Enter the ohyay event space

Click on the link to join the event. 

We highly recommend that you use a Chromium based browser, Google Chrome being the first choice. Other Chromium based browsers that are known to work are Microsoft Edge and Brave. Other browsers may work, but you might be missing some functionality. 

Reminder for all students, moderators and speakers: Be sure to use the personalized URL provided to you to access the site. This personalized URL grants you the permissions you need to be able to share screens, access different video pods, etc. 

Audio and video setup

After clicking the link to join the ohyay event space, you will arrive on a page that allows you to configure your camera and microphone. Be sure to click the option to grant permission to access your camera and microphone. These permissions are critical to your event experience. On this page you can test your camera and microphone and select a different one if need be. After configuring your camera and microphone, click the “Join Now” button to enter the space.

If you experience audio problems after clicking the "Join Now" button, click the gear icon near the microphone icon in the top right hand corner of the screen. This will allow you to reconfigure your camera and microphone.

Take the ohyay tour

If possible, we recommend that event participants login to ohyay prior to the event to familiarize themselves with the platform. When you enter the platform, a pop-up screen will appear, offering a tour of the platform. The tour shares the basics of using the ohyay platform and takes about 15 minutes. 

NOTE: The site is open and available for use at any time prior to the event. and you’re encouraged to take the ohyay tour and explore the platform at any convenient time prior to the event on May 24.

There is a Help page inside the ohyay event site that may provide additional assistance if you are having trouble. To find the help page, click on the icon indicated by the arrow on the right to open the navigation menu. Help will be the last item in the list.
