Jamie Prins
Informatics, 2005
In 2013, Jamie was promoted to Senior Marketing Manager, Kindle Education, at Amazon. She and her husband Ryan Prins (INFO 2005), a senior consultant at Avanade, also welcomed their first child, son Lincoln.
Agueda Sanchez
MSIM, 2005
Agueda spent 2013 working for Nike in Beaverton, OR and traveling to China to launch the Nike.com/China website. Agueda writes, "it was a great experience learning about China and helping Nike optimize end-to-end e-commerce processes. Now I'm back in Seattle working for Amazon, supporting the continuous growth of its platform for third-party sellers."
Agueda also sits on the MSIM Advisory Board.
Liesl Seborg
MLIS, 2005
Liesl is the Senior Librarian for Adult Outreach and Programming for Salt Lake County Library Services, and was recently named 2016 Librarian of the Year by the Utah Library Association. From her nomination letter: "Liesl has a passion for serving the underserved... And when [she] sees an opportunity to provide services to a group in need, Liesl finds the time and pursues the resources to make it happen."
Karen Semyan
MSIM, 2005
Karen is a Senior Project Manager at Moz, an inbound marketing SaaS (software as a service) company.
Kristen Shuyler
MLIS, 2005
Kristen co-edited a book, "Integrating Information Literacy Into the Chemistry Curriculum" (American Chemical Society 2016), and co-authored two chapters within it.
Samantha Starmer

In January 2014, Samantha began work in New York City at Ralph Lauren as a Vice President, Digital Product Management. Samantha also sits on the MSIM Advisory Board.
Joseph Tennis
PhD, 2005
Joe is now Associate Professor and Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs at the University of Washington Information School. This year, he served as Chair of the Governing Board of the Dublin Core Metadata Initiative. He will also continue to serve as the President for the International Society for Knowledge Organization for another two years.
Genevieve Williams
MLIS, 2005
In mid-2015, Genevieve began serving a year as president of the ACRL Washington State chapter.
Matt Woicik
MSIM, 2005
Matt started a digital marketing agency called ML2 Solutions, helping small-business owners who are struggling with their digital marketing as a digital marketing strategist who focuses on websites, SEO (Search Engine Optimization), PPC (paid advertising) and analytics.
Wendy Zimmerman
MLIS, 2005
Wendy has worked at the Fairbanks Public Libraries in a range of positions over the last 20 years. She is currently the Circulation and Bookmobile Services Manager. She moonlights as Accounting and Human Resources Manager at her spouse’s aircraft maintenance facility.
She unwinds by cooking, painting, and enjoying Alaska’s great outdoors through cycling, hiking and skiing.
