iSchool Resource Fair
The online Resource Fair brings together iSchool student organizations, as well as several of our academic program chairs, study abroad opportunities, and our dean at virtual tables, similar to a real fair. Please watch our welcome video, then join the Remo event anytime to start building connections with faculty, staff and fellow students.
How to Navigate the Fair
Before you go:
- Your UW email is required to access the event: Join through the Remo invite email you were sent, or choose "Confirm my attendance" and input your UW email when you click the event link above.
- Watch the Remo "how to" guide.
- Build your Remo profile: In the top right corner, click your icon and choose "My Profile." Add a photo of yourself! File size is maximum 512KB (small). The "Headline" and "Company Name" are great places to put your major, year of graduation, pronouns or other helpful info. All links are optional.
- Review the attendee list (below) and the event map: Research the tables you want to visit, and brainstorm some conversation starters or questions.
- Take this one-click system test: Make sure your microphone, camera and browser are compatible with Remo.
During the event:
- Remember, everyone is excited to meet you! Yes, everyone — this is your community! iSchool staff and faculty have also been invited to attend.
- Be thoughtful of others: If you consider yourself to be more talkative, try to listen actively and invite others to speak. If you are more of a listener, challenge yourself to share your thoughts or a question. And don’t worry if you need to leave a conversation. You can always follow up later via email or social media!
- Need help? For technical issues, chat with Remo. For other questions, inside the event, go to a “Need Help” table to chat with Student Services. Staff can help you check your audio/video, find a specific student group or table, report disruptive behavior, and answer questions.
Technical Requirements and Support
Remo is an interactive event platform with a 2D “floor plan.” You can take a “seat” and have video, voice and chat conversations with the group at your “table.” Student leaders and other table hosts may screen-share or open the virtual whiteboard to share information and host activities. There is a maximum of 6 people per table.
Please note that Remo only works on Chrome, Safari, or Firefox browsers on computers or phone devices (Remo is not supported by iPads and tablet devices).
View the Remo Guide for Attendees.
Technical issues? Chat with Remo or email ihelp@uw.edu.
