All iSchool New Student Welcome and Fair
1:00-4:00pm

The all iSchool New Student Welcome and Fair provides new students with the opportunity to hear from Dean Harry Bruce and a number of other faculty and current students. This event is designed to welcome new iSchool students from all four programs (MLIS, MSIM, PhD Information Science, and BS Informatics). Immediately following the Welcome, the iSchool will host a Resource Fair - the perfect time to chat with student groups, iSchool faculty and staff, and other new students. Refreshments served at the Resource Fair.

PhD Orientation The PhD Orientation event will help orient new PhD students to program requirements and resources and welcomes new students to the iSchool. PhD Reception Faculty, staff and current PhD students welcome incoming PhD students. Attendance is mandatory for all incoming PhD students. |
Small Group Orientations You will sign up for a small group orientation when you receive your offer of admission. These orientations will meet over the course of the summer, and will be by sign-up only. Attendance at one small group orientation is mandatory for all incoming BS in Informatics students. |

Full-Time & Mid-Career MSIM |
International Students |

MSIM Orientation Basic program requirements will be covered and student handbooks will be handed out. Attendance is mandatory for all incoming MSIM students. |
International Student Orientation Information and guidance will be provided to incoming international students. Students from all programs welcome. |

Residential & Law MLIS |

Friday, September 21, 2012 Attendance on September 21 is required for all incoming Residential & Law MLIS students. |
Wednesday, September 19, 2012 View the Online MLIS Orientation Session Calendar for more details, including times sessions run each day. Each fall the newly admitted Online MLIS students gather together in Seattle for a face-to-face orientation and series of workshops to acclimatize them to life as online student learners. More information on events taking place over this three-day timeframe will be posted online and provided to all new students. After the Orientation Session, Online MLIS students return home to begin their courses online. Attendance is mandatory all three days for all incoming Online MLIS students. |
