Office of Student Services (OSS) Staff
Kari Brothers, Admissions Counselor, Student Services
Kari coordinates admissions for the School's academic programs. This includes working closely with the UW Graduate School to ensure successful completion of applications, especially for international students. Kari also works on recruitment and outreach, including representing the iSchool at conferences.
Jayson Curry, Program Assistant, Informatics, Student Services
Jayson provides primary support in the Office of Student and Academic Services in all areas related to the Informatics program, including promotion, recruitment, event-planning, records management, and academic support and student services. He also works closely with other OSS staff to provide general support for the School's other degree programs.
Cynthia del Rosario, Director for Graduate Minority Recruitment and Retention
As Director of Graduate Minority Recruitment, Cynthia's focus is on increasing the enrollment, retention and graduation rates of students from historically underrepresented minority groups; fostering a welcoming and supportive climate for all iSchool students, faculty, and staff; as well as engaging, building, and maintaining the iSchool in meaningful relationships across the UW campuses and in our local, regional, and national communities.
Dowell Eugenio, Informatics Academic Advisor, Student Services
Dowell is the Academic Advisor for the Informatics program, working directly with Informatics students. His interactions include serving as the initial point of contact for disseminating information to prospective Informatics applicants, providing general academic advising to current Informatics students, and assisting in various programs for the benefit of Informatics students.
Katherine (Kath) Gold, Program Assistant, MSIM/PhD, Student Services
Kath provides primary support in the Office of Student and Academic Services in all areas related to the MSIM and PhD programs, including promotion, recruitment, event-planning, records management, and academic support and student services. She also works closely with other OSS staff to provide general support for the School's other degree programs.
As Director of Student Services, Wendie manages all aspects of student services for the School's undergraduate and graduate programs (Bachelor's, Master's and Ph.D.). This includes recruitment/marketing, admissions, orientations, fieldwork, academic progress, graduation and basic troubleshooting, as well as developing policy and procedural revisions.
Marie Potter, MLIS Academic Advisor, Student Services
Marie is the Academic Advisor for the MLIS program, working directly with both residential and online students. Her interactions include serving as the initial point of contact for disseminating information to prospective MLIS applicants, providing general academic advising to current residential and online students, and assisting in various programs for the benefit of MLIS students. Marie also coordinates the administrative aspects of the Directed Fieldwork (DFW) program, working alongside the DFW Faculty Coordinator, Lorraine Bruce, and the advisor to the Law MLIS students, Penny Hazelton.
Matthew Saxton, Associate Dean for Academics
In his role as Associate Dean for Academics, Matt serves as the chief academic officer of the School. He has general oversight of the School's academic mission, including academic and curricular planning, policy matters, student services, scheduling, academic conduct and faculty development.
Sharon Talbert, Program Assistant, MLIS, Student Services
Sharon provides primary support to the MLIS program. Sharon coordinates the degree audit and portfolio process for the MLIS students, in addition to providing general support to the program and the Student Services team.
Kathy Wong, MSIM Academic Advisor, Student Services
Kathy is the Academic Advisor for the MSIM program, working directly with both Day MSIM and Executive MSIM students. Her interactions include serving as the initial point of contact for disseminating information to prospective MSIM applicants, providing general academic advising to current MSIM students, and assisting in various programs for the benefit of MSIM students. Kathy also coordinates the administrative aspects of the MSIM Internship program.
